August 26th, 2007Happy Rakhi :-)
Hi friends,
Its Rakhi time.
Rakhi-this word certainly means a lot to me. (haa baba pata hai to you as well
) I just love to love my sisters. This post of mine is dedicated to all the wonderful and caring sisters of the world. May god bless you all.
Rakhi is indeed a “thread that binds.”

Girls begin their shoppin’ for this festival well in advance. Designer rakhis, expensive gifts et al include the list. As for the brothers its a day of vowing to their sisters that come what may they will always protect (raksha) their sisters. That aside, brothers need to loosen their pockets too (bahut chuna lagne wala hai yaar).
Ok, I am sure that all of us would enjoy the day (that happens to be on the 26th of August this year ). But lets also spare a thought for all those who dont have any sister or brother. People who are deprived of all these joys that come.
Are all the expenses incurred on buying extravagant rakhis and gifts justified? Is it not the moral duty of all of us to stay away from such mockery in the name of a festival?
I wonder if these questions would ever be entertained.
Anyways, wishing you all a VERY HAPPY RAKHI in advance.
Send Rakhi E-Cards to your brother or sister.
Enjoy!

Happy Raksha Bandhan to you too, Anand. May almighty give you enough strength to always stand by your sisters.
For your question, it is ever-going question which can never result in commonly agreed solution and it doesn’t only apply to just one occasion but most of the festivals celebrated in our country spanned throughout the year.
Hope you have great time celebrating the festival.
